The Morecambe 10km is popular with new runners and PB hunters alike! Starting and finishing on the Promenade this seaside race provides a good course coupled with lovely views across the Bay.
The Morecambe 10km aims to be a friendly race organised by runners who are dedicated to delivering a superb event for every type of runner as well as supporting local charities.
To new runners, and those considering running with us for the first time, we promise a warm welcome and a race with fantastic support.
Regardless if you are an elite runner with prize winning ambitions, chasing a new personal best time, or one of the many unsung heroes for whom an organised race is the ultimate challenge for yourself or for your chosen charity we promise to help you achieve your goal.

The start is just over the road on Morecambe Promenade next to the impressive Midland Hotel on the Jetty.
A new course for 2018 means no hills and the route is very flat and potentially very quick.

Where can I park?
Parking for competitors and supporters is available in many of the car parks located in the Morecambe postcode of LA4 4DW. Any parking charges are not enforced by the Lancaster Race Series. Before leaving your car please be aware of any parking restrictions for that area.

Morecambe has a number of hotels and B&B’s in its centre and outskirts of the city of Lancaster. Please contact us for more information with your requirements and we’ll do our best to match you to appropriate accommodation.
What is the race route?
The race takes in some scenic coastal views across the bay and is an extremely friendly 10km for first-time runners and experienced runners alike. Route maps can be found on www.lancaster-race-series.co.uk
The course is mainly flat and fast but includes a couple of hills on leaving the promenade and moving through Heysham Village before returning to Morecambe.
What are the rules for the event?
This race has been measured and certified permitted under UKA Rules.
How far apart are the drinks stations?
The drinks station will be approx. 3 miles into the route.
What else will be available on the course?
A number of marshals and community groups will be on the course providing runners with jelly babies and Vaseline if required!

There will be mile markers, every mile.
How old do I need to be to run?
To enter the Morecambe 10km, you must be 15 or over on race day.

If you live in the UK and entered by post, this race info will be posted out to you explaining the details for race day. If you entered online your information will be sent to the email stated in the online application. Please check your spam as sometimes emails go into this folder instead of standard email inboxes.
Numbers are to be collected on the day of the race.
I can't run - What is your refund policy? Can I transfer my number?
Unfortunately, there is a no refund policy and we are now unable to transfer numbers.
What if I am ill, injured or unfit before the race?
We recommend that you do not run if you feel ill, injured or have not trained for this event. If in doubt, consult your doctor.
Can I run in Fancy Dress?
Yes we welcome runners in fancy dress. Please take care with your choice of fancy dress as roads & paths are NOT closed to the public.
Can I wear an iPod or music player?
It is not recommended. For your own safety you need to be aware of what is around you, and to be able to take instructions from marshals.
Is there a baggage store?
We will be confirming baggage shortly.
Where are the toilets?
There are toilets located in DW Fitness and a number of public toilets on the promenade. Please leave plenty of time to use toilets.
What food and drink will be available?
There will be food and drink available in the HQ but Morecambe promenade has a number of choices within short walking distance from the race HQ. Morrisons supermarket is also a 2-minute walk from the race HQ.
When will the results be available?
Results will be posted online soon after the race on www.lancaster-race-series.co.uk
