A popular half marathon which encourages news runners and pb hunters. The course is mainly traffic free and uses footpaths & cycleways allowing you to really stretch your legs!
To new runners, and those considering running with us for the first time, we promise a warm welcome and a race with fantastic support that is designed for all.
Regardless if you are an elite runner with prize winning ambitions, chasing a new personal best time, or just want to get fit and test yourself, then these are the races for you!
Race HQ is split between the Lancaster Castle and the Royal Kings Arms Hotel.
Numbers are collected from the Royal Kings Arms and the race finishes in the Castle!
Please use the course routes as a guide for direction rather than precise mile placings!
When is the race in 2019?
The 2019 race is on Sunday 3rd November at 11am

Where is the race HQ?
The race start is two minutes away from the race HQ and finishes at the Lancaster Castle, Castle Parade, LA1 1YJ.
The Royal Kings Arms Hotel is the Race HQ, 75 Market St. Lancaster, LA1 1JG. There is no parking at this hotel.
Where can I park?
Parking around the Castle is very limited and we recommend using a pay & display car parks in Lancaster
For more parking details visit the Lancaster City Council website but please do not try and park at the Castle.
Where can I stay in Lancaster?
Lancaster has a number of hotels and B&B’s in the centre and outskirts of the city. Please contact us for more information with your requirements and we’ll do our best to match you to appropriate accommodation.
What is the race route?
The race takes in some scenic Lancaster Lune Valley countryside and route maps can be found on www.lancaster-race-series.co.uk
The course is fast and is undulating in parts and the majority of the route is traffic free. The race starts 5 minutes away and is signposted from the Castle.
What are the rules for the event?
This race has been measured and certified permitted under UKA Rules.
How far apart are the drinks stations?
The drinks stations will be 2.5 to 3 miles apart.
What else will be available on the course?
A number of marshals and community groups will be on the course providing runners with jelly babies and Vaseline if required!
Will there be start zones?
Will there be mile or km markers?
There will be mile markers, every mile.
How do I get my race number?
You can collect your number on the day at the race HQ.
I can't run - What is your refund policy? Can I transfer my number?
Unfortunately, there is a no refund policy and we are now unable to transfer numbers.
What if I am ill, injured or unfit before the race?
We recommend that you do not run if you feel ill, injured or have not trained for this event. If in doubt, consult your doctor.
Can I run in Fancy Dress?
Yes, we welcome runners in fancy dress. Please take care with your choice of fancy dress as roads and cycleways are NOT closed to the public.
Can I wear an iPod or music player?
It is not recommended. For your own safety you need to be aware of what is around you, and to be able to take instructions from marshals.
Is there a baggage store?
There will be a space in the Royal Kings Arms. This is an unmanned area and we suggest not leaving valuables in bags.
Is there changing?
Due to the venue there is no official changing area.
When will the results be available?
