Where can I park?

There is limited Pay & Display parking around the Castle. There are several car parks within a 10 minute walk of the venue. 

There is very little on street parking close to the venue.

Where is the race start?

The race start is signposted from and is approximately 5 minutes walk from the Castle. The start and finish are close to each other.

When do I get my race number?

From inside race HQ from 12.30 am on race day. (for 2pm start)

From inside race HQ from 10.00 am on race day. (for 11am/noon start)

Do you accept entries on the day?

Yes, inside race HQ from 12.30 am on race day. (for 2pm start)

From inside race HQ from 10.00 am on race day. (for 11am/noon start)

Will there be start zones?

We are not expecting to use start zones.

What are the rules for the event?

The race has been measured, certified and permitted under UKA rules.

Will there be mile or km markers?

There will be mile markers, every mile.

How old do I need to be to run?

10k minimum age: 15 or over on race day.

Is there a baggage store?

There is a baggage store at the venue.

Where are the toilets?

Toilets are available at the Castle and at the venue.

How far apart are the drinks stations?

Drinks stations are at approximately 3 mile intervals along the route.

What else be available on the course?

Marshals from local community groups will be on the course directing you along the route.

Can I run in fancy dress?

Yes we welcome runners in fancy dress. Please take care with your choice of fancy dress as roads and cycleways are NOT closed to the public.

Can I wear an iPod or music player?

It is not recommended. For your own safety you need to be aware of what is around you and to be able to take instructions from marshals.

I can't run - what is your refund policy? Can I transfer my number?

Unfortunately, there is a no refund policy and we are unable to transfer numbers.

What if I am ill, injured or unfit before the race?

We recommend that you do not run if you feel ill, injured or have not rrained for this event. If in doubt, consult your doctor.

When will the results be available?

Initial results will be available soon after the event.

Finalised results will be posted with Run Britain approximately 48 hours after the finish.

Where can I stay in Lancaster?

There are a number of hotels and B&Bs in and around Lancaster including a Holiday Inn and Premier Inn near Junction 34. There are also caravan and campsites in the outlying villages.
